Dr. TJ Hackler This presentation provides an applied, real‑world exploration of Active Release Techniques® (ART) as a clinical tool for the assessment and treatment of soft‑tissue dysfunction. Drawing from years of clinical practice and experience in high‑performance sports medicine, including work with professional athletes, this talk traces the speaker’s personal and professional journey with ART—from initial exposure to advanced clinical integration.
Attendees will gain insight into how ART has evolved as a cornerstone treatment approach in both private practice and elite athletic settings. The presentation will highlight the principles that make ART effective, its role in improving patient outcomes, and how precise soft‑tissue management contributes to long‑term clinical success. Emphasis is placed on practical application, clinical reasoning, and the integration of ART into a comprehensive treatment toolbox.
Dr. TJ Hackler is an Active Release Techniques® (ART) certified chiropractor with over 20 years of clinical experience. He has been certified in ART for 23 years and has served as an ART instructor for the past 16 years, teaching practitioners advanced soft tissue treatment methods.
Dr. Hackler has been the team chiropractor for the Kansas City Chiefs for 20 years, including 16 seasons traveling to all home and away games. He has also worked with the University of Kansas track and field program for 15 years and has provided care for athletes with Sporting Kansas City.
He maintains a private practice in the Overland Park, Kansas area, where he specializes in Active Release Techniques with Chiropractic and performance-based care. Dr. Hackler earned his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of Kansas and his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Cleveland Chiropractic College.
He is presenting at this continuing education seminar on Active Release Techniques®, sharing both clinical insight and hands-on demonstration to help chiropractors better integrate ART into their practices.
